DETECt will promote the implementation of a vast range of initiatives aimed at maximising the impact of the project within and particularly beyond the academic community. This goal will be reached by addressing a variety of target groups, including:
Scholars, teachers and students in the Social Sciences and the Humanities
Professionals of the creative industries
Policy makers
Fans and critics of popular culture
The general public

In order to disseminate the research findings to these audiences, and to involve them in the dissemination activities, the DETECt partners will produce a large number of outputs including: – two conferences and a series of conference papers and panels – two edited collections and a series of peer-reviewed articles – a series of screenings of European crime films – an exhibition about the history of crime fiction in Europe – a web portal exploring European crime narratives in fiction, film and television – a web mobile app mapping the locations of European crime TV shows – two webinars on the production of European crime films and television – a series of edit-a-thons of Wikipedia entries on the Europeannes of crime narratives – a Massive Online Open Course on the representation of European identity in crime narratives – a series of dissemination events involving writers, filmmakers, and TV creative and targeted at local communities.

The Dissemination and Communication Team, along with the Press and Media Teamwill assure that the work carried out by the Consortium receives the appropriate coverage by mainstream and specialised media in all the countries involved in the project. To reach this goal, DETECt Project Communication Manager and the Press Office will coordinate the shared effort of all partners to attract the attention of local, national, and international media on the project’s dissemination activities.

Tasks and activities related to dissemination and communication are included in WP 7.

The work package has the following goals:

1) To provide continuous information about the project’s progress and achievements;

2) To promote the use of educational digital tools and resources among European citizens and key target groups;

3) To achieve high visibility within the academic community, promise the involvement of industrial and professional

stakeholders and optimise the communication between academic and non-academic partners;

4) To effectively disseminate the spread of reports and policy documents among specific target groups to facilitate the

transfer of results to the different fields of the European creative industry;

5) To promote active social participation in the project activities to raise awareness about the project topics and results.
